Once again the SEAI in their efforts to help SMEs reduce their energy costs have just announced this years Smart Lighting Grant Scheme. for the past two years SME's have been able to avail of grants for the replacement of existing fittings, If you were considering upgrading your lighting, now there is an even better reason to get the project up and running.
The SEAI want to help you reduce your energy use and costs, making you more competitive as a result. When you change to energy efficient lighting you can save up to 90% on your annual lighting electricity costs. There is also the added bonus that modern LEDs are virtually maintenance free so there are further savings to be made there.
Like all Grant Schemes there are strict criteria on who should apply and how to identify if you qualify. At EASi we have successfully assisted SME's for the last two years to receive these grants. With the experience of working both with our own clients and The SEAI and we can manage the process for you.
Should You Apply?
If you are an SME based in the Republic of Ireland, with less than 50 employees then there is a good chance you will qualify if you are operating in any of these sectors:
Small Hotels / Large B&Bs
Pharmacies Nursing Homes
(other sectors considered on a case-by-case basis)
Applications must entail a whole building or facility, which includes lighting upgrades undertaken in all service areas within the building. SEAI will cover up to 30% of the cost of replacing existing lighting. This lighting must be in working order and in a building that is in general use at the time of the application.
The products you use must be Triple E Registered. At EASI we have already taken the time to register our products this enables us to help you design your new lighting system and advise which products will qualify you for the scheme. We can carry out a Smart Lighting Audit and advise you on the ROI and the amount of the Grant you will qualify for.
